Knot Boards LLC was founded by Wesley Nutter in Hardwick, Vermont in 2014.
Wesley has decades of experience creating various forms of art. Originally taught by his father and grandfather the craft of woodworking, he has adopted traditional techniques with his own self-taught engineering to create Knot Boards’ high-quality designs.
An environmentalist at heart, Wesley strives to create a business that focuses on art complimenting the beauty of nature.
The majority of wood used in building paddleboards, paddles, and the other items is recycled wood sourced from pesticide-free shipping pallets found at local stores in Vermont.
After traveling far and wide, the wood used at Knot Boards finds its final creative resting place in the Green Mountains of Vermont.
Shipping pallets and other recycled wood are difficult to work with due to their high moisture content, large amount of knots (hence the company name), and hidden pieces of rock and metal embedded from travel.
Most of the recycled wood will find it’s way into the hollow paddleboards
Paddles
And Tap Handles
Knot Boards believes in the benefit of wood as a carbon sink and strives to use as much excess in smaller projects as possible.
